The City Council could vote tonight to shift the track it is taking for the railroad crossing at Imperial Highway.

While the city has been moving forward with a proposal to build an overpass crossing the Burlington-Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks, city officials are now suggesting Yorba Linda look into lowering the railroad to divert trains under Imperial Highway instead.

The council is scheduled to consider approving a $114,000 study for lowering the tracks at Imperial. Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:30 at City Hall, 4845 Casa Loma Ave.
