Civic Arts Plaza Open House Planned
City officials are dusting off the welcome mats as they prepare for the annual Civic Arts Plaza open house next weekend.
Designed to help residents learn more about their city, the day will include touring city offices, exploring the performing arts theater (including a chance to stand and sing on stage), learning how to take care of an oak tree and watching how computerized traffic signals work, City Manager MaryJane Lazz said.
The event will take place Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served and the city’s police Explorer Scouts will host a barbecue fund-raiser.
