Construction is underway on three traffic islands designed to slow down speeders on Francisco Drive. The 4-foot-wide concrete medians narrow the road slightly, discouraging the high-speed travel that residents have long complained about, said City Manager Fred Maley. The work should be completed within the next few weeks, he added.
