* Cheer for Children, an all-volunteer group that brings holiday cheer to acutely ill and orthopedically handicapped South Bay children, needs volunteers for Halloween parties Oct. 27 and Oct. 28. Face painters, hat makers, jugglers and helpers for carnival-type booths are needed. Non-scary costumes welcome. All those interested should attend an orientation meeting Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. at the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce, 200 N. Pacific Coast Highway. Information: Pam Edwards at (310) 540-2494.
