LAGUNA WOODS
Temporary signs and decorative flags are prohibited throughout Laguna Woods, but the city’s planning advisory committee is recommending the city modify its rules.
Under the committee’s recommendations, banner signs, sandwich signs and decorative colored flags should be allowed in the city with restrictions on size, amount and display times. Seasonal banner signs hung across light poles in shopping and commercial areas should also be allowed.
The committee agreed that signs and balloons tethered to rooftops and small staked signs should remain prohibited in Laguna Woods. The City Council will vote on the committee’s recommendations at its meeting Wednesday. Information: (949) 452-0600.
