Westlake Technologies Bought by Connecticut Firm

Share

Axsys Technologies Inc. of Rocky Hill, Conn., has acquired the assets of Westlake Technologies Corp. of Newbury Park, a supplier of high-speed electronics used to test magnetic disk drive assemblies.

Axsys has had an alliance with Westlake Technologies since August 1998 that gives Axsys the exclusive right to sell Westlake Technologies’ electronics. Since then, Axsys has been focused on integrating those electronics into its products.

“The addition of Westlake into Axsys Technologies increases our capabilities in high-speed analog and digital electronics,” said Mark Bonney, Axsys president and chief operating officer. “While these capabilities are critical in our data storage applications, as part of Axsys they may also be leveraged to support our other markets, including digital imaging and fiber optic automation equipment.”
