Share

The Ventura Unified School District will host a five-week course for parents and teens starting Thursday that will focus on how to strengthen relationships and build academic success.

The free classes will meet at 6:45 p.m. and continue weekly through Nov. 16 at the Ventura Adult and Continuing Education building.

“A Time for Parents” is designed to improve family communication, build self-esteem and develop effective study habits. The classes will also help parents identify alcohol and social problems among teens.

The workshop series is sponsored by the adult education division of the school district, along with area middle and high schools.

Those interested can either preregister by phone or enroll during the first class.
