Settlement OKd in Harassment Claim
The Los Angeles City Council voted Wednesday to pay $625,000 to a city gardener to settle a lawsuit in which she claimed she was sexually harassed by co-workers and a supervisor while she worked at Balboa Park in Encino.
Vanessa Bailey said that co-workers made sexual comments and gestures toward her, one exposed himself in a city truck and another kept “offensive magazines of naked women” in a city truck in which she had to ride.
In addition, a park supervisor grabbed Bailey and forcibly kissed her on more than one occasion, she alleged in her lawsuit.
Parks officials did not return calls for comment.
