Pasadena College Gets $1-Million Gift
From Times staff and wire reports
Pasadena City College has received its largest-ever private gift: a $1-million donation for teacher training given by Alexander and Adelaide Hixon of Pasadena.
The gift will be used to create an endowment for scholarships, staff support and promotions for the college’s new fast-track teacher training program. The program has 126 students who will transfer to Cal State Los Angeles and will earn credentials to teach in four years rather than the usual five.
