Documentary Festival Presents Award-Winners
The International Documentary Assn. and the Directors Guild of America present the 16th annual DocuFest on Saturday from 9 a.m. to midnight at the DGA Theatre, 7920 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood.
The daylong showcase allows moviegoers the chance to see on the big screen award-winning documentary films ranging in subject from prison to politics, as well as to meet and discuss them with the filmmakers.
“George Wallace: Settin’ the Woods on Fire” opens the fest at 9 a.m., followed by a program of shorts, including Academy Award nominee “Wildest Show in the South: The Angola Prison Rodeo,” at 12:15 p.m.
At 1:30 p.m., a double bill of “Red Files: Secret Soviet Moon Mission” and “Paul Robeson: Here I Stand” will screen followed by “Swedish Tango” at 4:45 p.m., “Gulag” at 6:30 p.m. and “Sugihara: Conspiracy of Kindness” at 9:45 p.m.
Tickets are $5 to $7 per program; all-day passes are $15 to $20.
