* The Los Angeles Times has named Thomas H. Johnson general manager of its Times Community News division, in addition to his current responsibilities as publisher of the Newport Beach/Costa Mesa Daily Pilot and the Huntington Beach Independent. He will report to Jeffrey M. Johnson, senior vice president and general manager, Los Angeles Times.
Times Community News publishes five independent newspapers that include the Burbank Leader, Daily Pilot, Foothill Leader, Glendale News-Press and Huntington Beach Independent.
* Matt Construction, based in Santa Fe Springs, has promoted David Stafford to vice president, whose duties will include staff training, recruitment and operational planning.
* Nairi Gardiner has been promoted to senior vice president, finance and operations for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. Her new duties will include handling roll-out of licensee and agent audits worldwide.
* Megatrax Production Music, a North Hollywood-based supplier of original production music for film, television, advertising and multimedia, has promoted Caitlin Hill to the newly created position of licensing director, network/promotion.
