Houston Astro catcher Tony Eusebio will have shoulder surgery next week and be out for the rest of the season.

Eusebio, who set the club record with a 24-game hitting streak that ended Tuesday, separated his right shoulder in Friday’s game against the Atlanta Braves when he went head-over-heels into the Astro dugout trying to catch a pop foul by Atlanta’s Javy Lopez in the eighth inning.

Eusebio was replaced on the roster by minor leaguer Raul Chavez.
