2nd Elderly Man Found Dead in a Hot Tub
An 84-year-old Thousand Oaks man was found dead in his apartment complex’s hot tub on Friday night, authorities said, the second drowning involving an elderly person in the east county in two days.
Authorities found Benjamin Hornstein slumped over in the spa at his apartment complex in the 300 block of Hodencamp Road about 8 p.m. Sheriff’s Department officials said they did not suspect foul play.
On Thursday, Leonard Hollander, 75, was found dead in the spa at a Simi Valley apartment complex in the 400 block of Country Club Drive.
Coroner’s officials ruled both deaths accidental drownings.
