Cerritos 33, Brethren Christian 7--Brethren Christian had trouble moving the ball and was held to three first downs in the second half at Clark Field in Lakewood.

Brethren Christian took the opening kickoff and moved 80 yards in a little more than five minutes, culminated by Leon Green’s five-yard touchdown run.

After getting five first downs on their first drive of the game, the Warriors did not get another first down until late in the third quarter and were held to 25 yards rushing.

Quarterback Kyle Painter was held in check by Cerritos’ defense. Painter completed 11 of 24 passes for only 123 yards.

Brethren Christian was plagued by poor field position in the first half. After the Warriors scored they did not get past their own 36 until early in the second half.

Kenneth Frank scored four touchdowns and rushed for 164 yards for Cerritos.

Brethren Christian’s Ryan Boling blocked a punt on the second play of the fourth quarter, and the Warriors recovered and had the ball at the Cerritos 35. But on third down, Painter was sacked and fumbled. Brethren Christian would not cross midfield again.
