Sun Devils’ Kealy Is Reinstated
Ryan Kealy, who was suspended by Arizona State Coach Bruce Snyder after being arrested for driving under the influence of drugs in July, was reinstated by Arizona State Coach Bruce Snyder.
Kealy, who has started 31 games and passed for 6,274 yards, was arrested by university police on July 23 and charged with driving under the influence. A blood test revealed no alcohol, but it also showed traces of three painkilling drugs and marijuana.
He was rehabilitating from his fifth knee operation at the time and had prescriptions for the painkillers, according to his attorney, Darrow Soll.
Since then, he has worked with Snyder and served as a team manager in hopes that he would be allowed to play again.
Snyder said that Jeff Krohn remains the starter at quarterback and that Kealy won’t see action Saturday against Colorado State.
