Two Women Found Shot Dead in Yorba Linda Hotel Room

A hotel maid discovered two dead women, both with gunshot wounds to their heads, inside a locked hotel room Friday afternoon at the Country Suites in Yorba Linda, according to police.
The women were believed to be a mother and daughter, both California residents, said Capt. Doug Dickerson of the Brea-Yorba Linda Police Department. He said the incident was being treated as a murder-suicide.
“They appear not to be from Orange County,” said Dickerson. “A firearm was also found in the room and is believed to be the murder weapon.”
The police are notifying the next of kin and the investigation is pending.
