Lee Has a Day at the Beach, Rallies Hueneme to Victory
Leslie Lee rushed for 293 yards and three touchdowns to lead Hueneme High back from a fourth-quarter deficit and push the Vikings to a 45-27 victory over Huntington Beach on Saturday afternoon at Huntington Beach.
Leslie scored on runs of 75, 48 and 26 yards and was also a force at linebacker. And with his team counting on him in the final minutes, he didn’t even think about needing a rest.
“With the ballgame on the line you don’t get tired,” Lee said. “You get an adrenelin rush.”
Hueneme (1-1) outscored Huntington Beach (0-2), 19-0, in the fourth quarter. Dwayne Taylor also scored three touchdowns for the Vikings, on a 98-yard kickoff return, a 23-yard pass reception, and a seven-yard run. Gordie Pinedo completed seven of 14 passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns for Hueneme.
Huntington Beach wasted a 235-yard, two-touchdown rushing performance from Russell Oschman.
