The advisory committee for the city’s newest park will hold a public workshop to discuss final designs on Sept. 27 in the City Council chambers.

The park is to be built on a half-acre triangular parcel of land at 304 W. Ojai Ave., an entry to downtown.

The latest ideas of the landscape architects and the design team will be presented for public discussion at the workshop, which will be held at 7:30 p.m.

“We’ve had a lot of public input from the Ojai community,” city redevelopment analyst Kathleen McCann said.

“We did a questionnaire to ask folks what they wanted to see in the park. We’ve had public meetings. There is a lot of interest in making it reflect the history of Ojai.”

The park will cost about $400,000, not including maintenance.

The committee plans to name the park in the next couple months.
