Library Friends Plan Fall Used-Book Sale

Share

From coffee-table art books to children’s classics, the Friends of the Camarillo Library will host their semiannual used-book sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 7 and 8.

The book sale will be held inside the white tent in the parking lot of the Las Posas Plaza at Las Posas Road and Daily Drive. Books will be discounted on the last day of the sale.

Several hundred books in dozens of categories will be for sale, said Ralph Lovell, a member of the library’s friends group since 1980.

Books at the sale will range from 50-cent paperbacks to special-edition titles signed by authors, Lovell said. The sale will also include records, audio books and music.

Money raised will help fund new book and educational programs. During the April book sale, $32,000 was raised.

For the 750 members of Friends of the Camarillo Library, a pre-sale event will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Oct. 6.

Since the nonprofit organization was formed in the early 1970s, it has collected about $300,000 for a new library, which is in its early planning stages, Lovell said.
