Taliaferro Regains Feeling After Injury

Adam Taliaferro, 18, the Penn State freshman cornerback who was injured in Saturday’s game against Ohio State remained hospitalized Sunday in Columbus, Ohio., in serious condition with a cervical spine injury.

Taliaferro has neurological damage and some paralysis but has complete feeling throughout his body, according to Dr. Wayne Sebastianelli, Penn State’s director of athletic medicine. Specifics were not released.

The Associated Press’ top 25 rankings provided good news for the state of South Carolina. Not only did South Carolina move into top 25 for the first time since 1993, but Clemson broke into the top 10 for the first time since 1991. The Gamecocks (4-0), in Coach Lou Holtz’s second season at Columbia, were ranked No. 23 by the 71 sportswriters and broadcasters on the AP panel. Clemson (4-0), in Coach Tommy Bowden’s second season, moved up four places to No. 7.
