The Los Angeles Philharmonic will make its second fall trip to the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza tonight. Conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen will lead the orchestra in a decidedly French program: Debussy’s “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun” and “La Mer,” plus Ravel’s “Ma Mere l’Oye” and “La Valse.”

Bowlful of Blues--The Best Bets and events columns in Thursday’s Calendar Weekend section provided an incorrect list of performers for the Bowlful of Blues festival at Lake Casitas. Here is the lineup:
Saturday: Rod Piazza & the Mighty Flyers; Roy Gaines; Robert Lockwood Jr.; Paul “L’il Buck” Sinegal with Fernest Arceneaux; Mitch Kashmar and Mahli McGee; Paul Oscher; Tom Ball and Kenny Sultan, and Jimmy Calire Bowlful All-Stars with special guest Joe Houston.
Sunday: Jeff Elliot Quartet; Teka; the Estrada Brothers; the Santa Barbara City College “Lunch Break” Jazz Band, directed by Chuck Wood; the Buck & Fernest Zydeco Kings, and the Jimmy Calire Trio, plus a special appearance by Memphis folk blues stylist Sid Selvidge.

Flashback

A “Fabulous ‘50s Fling” will offer a nostalgic journey back to the time of slicked-back hair and sock hops. The event, to be held Saturday in Camarillo, will feature performances by the Coasters, the Platters, the Chordettes, the Crewcuts, the Champs, the Sevilles, Jewel Akens and Donnie Brooks, plus Elvis impersonator Raymond Michael. A portion of ticket sales will benefit local charitable organizations.

Blues Bash

The annual Bowlful of Blues festival, previously held in downtown Ojai, is moving to Lake Casitas for two days of blues and jazz performances this weekend. The Faulkner Farm Pumpkin Patch & Harvest Festival will open its gates Sunday for the month of October. Each day the farm will offer farming demonstrations, animals, hayrides and pumpkins, plus live entertainment on the weekends. Picnic areas are available for family use.
