Parents Rights of Developmentally Disabled Children will hold a workshop Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Dale Macintosh Center for the Disabled at 150 W. Cerritos Ave. The workshop will address the need for increased training during emergencies for children and adults with disabilities, especially those deaf and hard of hearing. The topic comes out of an October 1999 federal report suggesting that fire departments lack staff who can deal with the special needs of the disabled and the elderly during emergencies.
