Incumbents

Share

* The word “incumbent” always reminded me of the cartoon where a new politician entered his new political office eager and ready to take on the world.

Several terms later, he is seen with money flowing out of his pockets and doing business in a shady room.

This is so very true in Los Angeles. I cannot vote for any incumbent, or incumbent seeking a higher office due to our two-term limit, this coming L.A. city election.

The present incumbents have wasted billions on all things for which they are responsible. Billions lost in the CRA [Community Redevelopment Agency]. Our LAPD is out of control. Every department has runaway budgets. Employees not only make more money, but sue for more. More billions thrown away during the Democratic National Convention, the buy-out of employees, the L.A. River, cow-tow to the unions, scandals everywhere, billions wasted on illegal aliens due to their Section 20--and lots more.

We had a surplus going into 2001 but they have managed to spend it. No tax return for the voters, but lots of return to the politicians. My suggestion to all: vote out all incumbents and no on all measures and propositions.
