* Re “Tackling Trucks,” March 28.
How about the Air Resources [Board] task force joining us on the 101 Freeway west, about 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. They’ll have plenty of business, that is, if they can see those monster school buses for the black smoke they puff out and drop on all of us. Better not get too close to the buses, especially as they start up. You cannot escape the fumes, even with car windows closed, if you are anywhere near them.
Why in the morning and then afternoon on the eastbound side are those buses being allowed to poison us with all that black smoke and smelly fumes? And every other year, we have to have our cars pass a smog inspection. Twenty cars could not begin to emit what these buses spew out on the freeways.
