Wired magazine said Chris Anderson will replace Katrina Heron as editor in chief in June. Anderson, 39, is U.S. business editor of the Economist, the weekly newsmagazine that’s 50% owned by British publisher Pearson. His previous jobs at the magazine include Hong Kong bureau chief from 1997 to March 2000 and technology editor from 1994 to 1997, when he started the Economist’s Internet coverage and built its first Web site, said Wired’s parent, Conde Nast Publications Inc. Heron, who joined Wired in 1995 and became editor in chief in 1997, said last month that she was quitting to spend more time with her young children and to try something new after building Wired’s circulation and editorial reputation.
