In the Freeway League:

La Habra 1, Troy 0--Amber Turner pitched a three-hitter and Lisa Whitney’s fourth-inning double scored Shannon Hudak for the visiting Highlanders (2-10, 2-1). Emily Hively (11-5) of Troy (11-6, 1-2) gave up six hits.

Sonora 7, Buena Park 0--Jeanine Baca had three hits and two RBIs in support of Allison Gerber, who pitched a six-hitter for host Sonora (14-8, 3-0).

In nonleague boys’ swimming:

No. 2 Santa Margarita 108, El Toro 62--The host Eagles won 10 of 11 events, and three swimmers won two individual events and swam on two winning relay teams. Edmund Herlihy won the 200 (1:51.23) and 500 (4:58.64) freestyles; Jonathan Russell was first in the 100 butterfly (54.47) and 100 backstroke (53.46); Harris Radie won the 200 individual medley (2:00.84) and 100 breaststroke (1:02.91).

In nonleague girls’ swimming:

No. 4 Santa Margarita 89, El Toro 81--Erika Figge’s Southern Section qualifying-time victory in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.09) provided the host Eagles (5-1) the team victory. Figge won the 50 freestyle (25.0) and anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay team’s win (1:44.85).

El Toro’s Kaitlin Sandeno won two individual events, the 200 freestyle (1:54.08) and 100 backstroke (56.88), and swam on two winning relay teams, the 200 medley relay (1:54.76) and 400 freestyle relay (3:45.56).

In Century League boys’ tennis:

No. 9 Canyon 18, El Modena 0--John Nguyen lost only one game in sweeping his singles sets for Canyon (12-3, 5-0). El Modena is 11-2, 3-2.
