From Times Staff Reports

Police arrested six people Thursday on suspicion of manufacturing and selling false government documents.

In raids at two locations, officers also seized about $120,000 worth of typewriters, plastic laminating devices and photographic equipment as well as thousands of sheets representing such government documents as Orange County birth certificates, California driver’s licenses and Social Security cards, investigators said.

“For this type of thing, this is a big one,” said Sgt. Steve Alegre, a spokesman for the Santa Ana Police Department.
