An unemployed Long Beach aerospace engineer charged with committing lewd acts against six girls at his home remained at large Friday. Police asked for the public’s help in finding him.

“He is a predator who poses a risk,” said Long Beach Police Det. Mike Holguin.

Richard Steve Goldberg, 55, is charged with six counts of committing lewd acts involving the girls who are 5 to 8 years old, Holguin said.

Goldberg also was charged with two counts of possessing child pornography, which was found on his home computer, he said.

Goldberg has long, curly brown hair, brown eyes and a mustache, wears glasses and is 6 feet tall and weighs about 160 pounds.

Sometime in May, police were told that Goldberg might have child pornography on his computer. Search warrants were served on his property and the homes of the girls, Holguin said.

By June, when the Los Angeles district attorney filed criminal charges and obtained an arrest warrant, Goldberg had left his home, cars and pets.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Det. Holguin at (562) 570-7368.
