Water Cutoff Forces Partial Jail Lockdowns

The Twin Towers correctional facility and the Men’s Central Jail were partially locked down much of Friday when water lines lost pressure, a Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokeswoman said.
It occurred when a contractor working on the Blue Line light-rail project along Alameda Street cut off water to the jails by shutting a “gate valve” without the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s knowledge, said Sgt. Rick Myers.
