We’ll Never See Likes of Him Again
Tears welled in my eyes as we all stood to applaud Cal Ripken for the last time at the Big A Sunday.
I again got misty as we were exiting the stadium along the right-field line 20 minutes after the last out. There was Cal, still in uniform, hugging kids, signing autographs and shaking hands while the Oriole team bus was being loaded with luggage and equipment. Truly the end of an era.
By the way collectors, I’ll trade 10 Raul Mondesi, 10 Gary Sheffield plus 10 John Rocker cards for one Cal Ripken.
