Drunk Driving Suspected in Crash That Killed Man

A man was killed early Tuesday when another driver ran a red light and hit his car, authorities said.

Wilfordo Valle, 24, died at the scene, Orange County coroner’s officials said. Investigators said he was traveling south on Clinton Street about 2 a.m. when his vehicle was struck by a Mazda driven by Juan Manuel Jacobo, who had four passengers with him.

Jacobo, 20, and one of the passengers were treated at UCI Medical Center in Orange for minor injuries, said Police Sgt. Baltazar De La Riva.

Jacobo was booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, De La Riva said. Several opened beer bottles were found inside the car, investigators said.
