Barry Bonds hit his major league-leading 48th home run to lead off a six-run 11th inning for San Francisco and power the Giants past the Cincinnati Reds, 9-3, Tuesday night at Cincinnati.

The Giants have won 11 of 12, improving to 17-8 since the All-Star game, best in the National League. They remained a game behind the Dodgers in the NL West.

Bonds singled and doubled home runs as San Francisco pulled ahead, 3-0, after three innings. He led off the 11th with a homer off Danny Graves (5-3), making him the fastest to reach 48 in major league history.

Chicago 5, Colorado 4--Ricky Gutierrez scored the winning run in the ninth on a botched rundown at Chicago.

With runners on first and second and one out, pinch-hitter Joe Girardi singled to left field. Gutierrez fell coming around third base and retreated.
