Riverside’s Todd Burns swept the Southern California Auto Club Late Model twin 40-lap main events before 6,126 at Irwindale Speedway.

In the first race, Burns, starting for the third time from the 10th position, took the lead before John Lathrop’s engine blew on lap 9, forcing a red flag. On the restart, Burns was able to hold off Late Model points leader Deryk Ward.

In the second race, Burns again started 10th, needing 21 laps to catch Doug McComb, who finished third behind David Hessing.

In the 40-lap Super Stock main event, Andrew Phipps earned his fifth victory in six races, holding off points leader Jeff Green. Valencia’s Aaron Staudinger won his first American Race Trucks Series by edging Robbie Brand in the 40-lap main event.
