From Times Staff Reports

Parts of Huntington Harbour and Seal Beach remained off limits to swimming and diving Monday because of two sewage spills.

The spills occurred Sunday. A 2,000-gallon spill in Huntington Beach forced the closure of the beach near 11th Street, the Admiralty Drive area and Peter’s Landing in the harbor.

A 6,000-gallon spill in Fullerton wound through several waterways before flowing into the San Gabriel River, which reaches the ocean at Seal Beach. The river mouth and 300 feet of beach are closed because of potential contamination.

The closures will be in effect until Wednesday.
