Cummins and his passengers, Terry Alejo, 41, of Lynwood and an 11-year-old were taken to UCI Medical Center, Quesada said.

The two roadside victims had pulled over near Goldenwest/Knott Street in Garden Grove to change a flat tire, investigators said. Cummins was driving a 2000 Kia Sportage, they said.

Investigators said Cummins was arrested but not booked because of his injuries.
