Blu’s ‘So Blu’ Has Bright Debut

Share

The chart is pretty evenhanded this week with performers doing about as well on the local charts as the national. The exception is Blu Cantrell, whose debut album “So Blu” did better in the Los Angeles and San Diego areas, coming in at No. 10, than nationally where it only rated at No. 16. Known for turning torturous heartache into a pleasant art form, Cantrell reveals the thoughts and experiences of a young woman’s struggle to find and succeed at love. Her first release, “Hit Em Up Style (Oops)!” had been a hit single for several weeks, but this week falls a bit short of the Top 10.
