George Will states in “Sport Holds Off the Culture Warriors” (Commentary, Aug. 12) that “at the small minority of selective schools, admissions are corrupted by racial preferences. At all schools there are ethnic and sexual spoils systems in hiring.” This sounds to me as though anyone who is not white does not deserve to go to a “selective” school. And that anyone who is not white and male does not deserve to teach at one of these “selective” schools. I sincerely hope this is not what he meant.
