Couple Is Arrested in Drug Lab Case
A North Hollywood couple were in custody Saturday after sheriff’s deputies discovered cold medicine used to make methamphetamine in their car and then followed them to a homemade drug lab.
Joel Alexander King, 27, and Olivia Nann Ogier, 22, were booked into Ventura County Jail on $50,000 bail.
Deputies first spotted the cold tablets, which contain ephedrine used to make methamphetamine, when the pair were involved in a minor traffic crash last week in Ojai, Sgt. Bob Garcia said.
Narcotics deputies followed the couple to locations in Ventura and Los Angeles counties before raiding their North Hollywood home, Garcia said. There they found equipment and materials sufficient to manufacture about 90 pounds of methamphetamine, he said.
