Ifilm Puts Its Print Properties Up for Sale

Share

Less than two years after buying the Hollywood Creative Directory and Lone Eagle Publishing, Ifilm acknowledged this week that its print publications are up for sale.

The directories, which are published in print form and on the Internet, are a who’s who of Hollywood executives, agents, managers and production companies.

Ifilm spokeswoman Melissa Zukerman declined to disclose the asking price or potential buyers. She stressed the company is not trying to sell its publications division, which employs 10 people, as a means to stay solvent. Ifilm is one of the last dot-coms that show movie trailers and short films on the Internet.

“We are not reliant on this sale; we’re just opportunistically exploring the option,” Zukerman said. “If it’s a good deal, at the right price, and the right place for the property, then we will divest. We are focusing now on the consumer Web portal.”

The move does, however, represent something of a retreat from the company’s original mission of becoming a one-stop shop for Hollywood insiders.
