Bomb Scare at Federal Building
From a Times Staff Writer
Two federal buildings were evacuated and several downtown streets cordoned off for more than two hours Wednesday morning after a suspicious-looking package was found in the Federal Building at 300 N. Los Angeles St.
A Los Angeles police spokeswoman said the package was rendered safe about 11:15 a.m., but information about whether it contained any explosives was not immediately available.
Closing Los Angeles and Temple streets seriously snarled traffic beginning about 9 a.m.
