Police Seek Hit-and-Run Driver That Killed 2
The California Highway Patrol on Tuesday said a hit-and-run driver killed two motorists standing next to a burned vehicle Monday night on the San Gabriel River Freeway south of El Monte.
The victims of the accident were identified as Richard Preciado, 21, of Carson, whose vehicle had caught fire, and Kenneth Bruce, 39, of El Monte, who had stopped to help him.
Both were standing in front of Preciado’s car when they were fatally struck by what initial reports said was a big-rig truck.
Anyone with knowledge of the accident, which occurred in the northbound lanes just north of the Pomona Freeway, should call the CHP at (626) 338-1164.
