These festive baked goods are wonderful to give (or just have around) for the holidays.

Federico’s Bakery: The panettone is filled with dried fruits and nuts; the moist orange-flavored fruitcake is crammed with all sorts of nuts and candied fruit. Both come decoratively packaged. La Brea Bakery: The stollen is a sweet bread flavored with almond paste, the pan forte a rich fruitcake full of nuts and dried cherries, apricots, cranberries and pineapple. B&L; Gourmet Pastries: For 34 years, this place has been baking Christmas stollen dense with fruits (dried pineapple, cherries, white raisins), nuts (pecans, almonds, walnuts) and orange and lemon peel. Il Fornaio: Try pandoro, a sweet yellow bread with a layer of vanilla or chocolate cream spiked with Marsala. Or order the traditional (raisins, candied peels) or bittersweet chocolate version of panettone.

Tudor House: This dark, moist English fruitcake includes candied grapefruit, cherries and pineapple as well as the usual raisins, currants and peels. It’s flavored with brown sugar and molasses, soaked in rum and brandy for a month, then frosted with marzipan and royal icing. (Fruitcake: 6-inch, $22; 8-inch, $32; 10-inch, $42.)
