KKBT-FM, known as 100.3 the Beat, blends R&B; and hip-hop in its programming, and its annual Holiday Cooldown is designed to showcase the lighter side of that mix. The ninth edition features four platinum-selling singers: Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, Faith Evans and Ginuwine.

8pm Pop Music

It’s not exactly Cream--maybe more like Half and Half--but Eric Clapton does sit in on the new album by former Cream mate Jack Bruce. The two reprise the classic band’s “Sunshine of Your Love” and “White Room” on Bruce’s “Shadows in the Air.” It’s another formidable guitarist, however, who has joined Bruce for his current tour: Living Colour’s Vernon Reid.

8pm Theater

Performers from France, Switzerland, Australia, Croatia, Russia, Argentina, Canada, Mexico and the United States will perform an “International Holiday Celebration,” an evening of songs, dance, mime and sketches. The show’s proceeds will help support the restoration and renovation of the Stella Adler Theatre’s historic site on Hollywood Boulevard.

7pm Cabaret

Cabaret favorites Dale Gonyea, Roy Zimmerman, Karen Benjamin and Alan Chapman, Dale Kristien and Hugh Panaro, Amanda McBroom and George Ball, plus others, will perform in their annual “A Holiday Cabaret.” The beneficiary of their witty and sophisticated songfest: the California affiliate of Jacques d’Amboise National Dance Institute.

The competition to choose an architect for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s dramatic makeover was a very private affair. But now the public can see the five finalists’ models and drawings in an exhibition, “Transforming LACMA: Museum at the Crossroads.” Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas’ winning scheme is on view, along with proposals submitted by Steven Holl of New York, Daniel Libeskind of Berlin, Thom Mayne of Los Angeles and Jean Nouvel of Paris, on the plaza level of the Ahmanson Building.
