John Alexander will conduct the Pacific Chorale in its annual holiday program, “‘Tis the Season.” The program will include Vaughan Williams’ “Fantasia on Christmas Carols” as well as chorale composer-in-residence Eric Whitacre’s “Lux Aurumque.” Completing the program will be traditional carols, Handel’s “Hallelujah!” Chorus and other seasonal favorites sung by the Pacific Chorale Children’s Chorus (Mary Ester Blakley, director). Pop Music

Anaheim pop-punk band Handsome Devil, which opens for Zebrahead on Sunday at House of Blues, plays its first hometown show since the release of the quartet’s unusually confident debut album, “Love and Kisses from the Underground.” Tapping his vast storehouse of musical and lyrical hooks, lead singer-guitarist-songwriter Danny Walker follows honorably in the footsteps of such O.C. punk luminaries as Social Distortion’s Mike Ness and the Offspring’s Dexter Holland .

Four women from the first half of the 20th century who influenced California Impressionism are highlighted in “Four Women of Influence: California Artists of the Early Twentieth Century” at the Laguna Art Museum. Janet Blake, curator of collections, assembles the works of Anna Hills, Donna Schuster, Marion Wachtel and Julia Wendt, and shows how their paintings stand out among their male peers. Paintings in the exhibition will be drawn from the Laguna Art Museum/Orange County Museum of Art.
