Supervisors Get Report on O.C. Bidding System
A panel that spent more than a year reviewing the county’s bidding system sent its report to the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.
Suggested are new restrictions on conflicts of interest and nonbid or sole-source contracts. Some supervisors took exception to the committee’s recommendation that the internal audit department be the key monitoring agency for contracts.
The panel also said the board should rely more on staff recommendations based on a point system in awarding contracts.
The report now goes to the county’s chief executive for review.
