Phil Daniels-Hernandez clinched the victory by taking an 8-1 decision over Julian Martinez in the 215-pound weight class.

Will German of San Fernando won an anticipated showdown with Andreik De Leon, scoring on a takedown for a 9-7 overtime victory at 171 pounds.

German, a two-time City champion and defending 161-pound champion, recorded his third victory this season over De Leon, defending City champion at 171.

It was the second time De Leon has taken German into overtime. He lost an 11-3 decision to German at the Camarillo individual tournament in December and lost in the semifinals of the North Torrance tournament in January.

German’s victory cut El Camino Real’s lead to 28-23, but Chris Sloan (189 pounds) of el Camino Real pinned Rene Herrera in 5:36 for a quick change in momentum.

San Fernando suffered a setback at the weigh-in. Conrad Silva, who was expected to compete at 160 pounds, missed weight by six pounds. There was a two-pound allowance for each class.
