Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit in Intersection
A 31-year-old man died Saturday morning after being struck by a pickup truck as he was crossing a Huntington Beach street on foot, police said.
The accident occurred about 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Yorktown Avenue.
The victim, Garden Grove resident Carlos Ochoa, 31, was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m., said Bruce Lyle, a spokesman with the county coroner’s office.
No charges were immediately filed against the pickup’s 17-year-old driver, whose name was not released because of his age.
