John Stockton pushed the replay button Sunday afternoon, taking over in the fourth quarter of a tight game, as he has many times in the past.

The master of the pick-and-roll, Stockton ran it to perfection against the Sacramento Kings. He scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter and also had four assists at Arco Arena, rallying the Utah Jazz to a 94-90 victory, their seventh win in eight games.

“John has been doing that for years, you kind of take it for granted and maybe other teams do as well,” said Karl Malone, who had 24 points, nine rebounds and six assists. “He made big shot after big shot.”

Trailing by seven points midway through the quarter, Stockton led a 12-1 run and Utah never trailed again.

Donyell Marshall scored a career-high 31 points and had 14 rebounds.

“Everyone was paying attention to Donyell and Karl, I was just out there playing,” Stockton said. “I try not to think too much out there.”

Philadelphia 104, Phoenix 98--Allen Iverson didn’t have to score 40 points again. He had 26 points and George Lynch added 15 points and 12 rebounds at Philadelphia as the 76ers, 4-0 since the All-Star break, improved the NBA’s best record to 40-14.

“People will say, ‘What happened? He only had 26 points, but he won the game,” 76er Coach Larry Brown said of Iverson, who had reached 40 points in three consecutive games. “He gave the ball up when he was double-teamed and did all the right things. I’m really proud of him.”

Orlando 96, New York 88--The Magic tied a franchise record with its ninth consecutive victory.

Tracy McGrady scored 15 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter at Orlando, including a three-point basket with 1:22 left that gave the Magic a 93-84 lead, putting the game out of reach.

San Antonio 92, Toronto 74-- The Spurs dominated inside, outrebounding the Raptors, 47-39, and outscoring them in the paint, 48-30, for their fourth victory in a row and 12th in 13 games.

Tim Duncan had 20 points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots as San Antonio took advantage of poor shooting by Vince Carter at Toronto. Carter made only three of 12 shots and scored six points.

Vancouver 110, Minnesota 102--With the team’s future in Vancouver in question, the Grizzlies keep winning. They’ve won four in a row since NBA commissioner David Stern gave them permission to explore a move.

“We’re just playing out there and having fun,” Shareef Abdur-Rahim said after his team extended the longest winning streak in franchise history. “I don’t think the team moving has anything to do with it. We’re just playing good basketball.”

Atlanta 98, Golden State 91--Jason Terry scored 38 points at Oakland as the Hawks dealt the Warriors their fourth consecutive loss. The Warriors have won only one of their last 10 games.

Washington 101, Denver 98--Mitch Richmond scored a season-high 29 points and made a clutch shot in the final seconds at Denver as the Wizards ended a losing streak at six games.
