Pedestrian Dies in Drive-By Shooting
Shots from a passing vehicle killed a 21-year-old man and wounded his 56-year-old father in the Florence area Monday evening, sheriff’s deputies said.
Deputy Cruz Solis, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, said the attack took place about 5:45 p.m. as the two men were walking in the 8600 block of Maie Avenue. The identities of the victims were not immediately released.
Cruz said no suspects had been identified and the motive for the attack was not known.
“The shooting does not appear to be gang-related,” Cruz said.
