Driver Hit, Killed After Exiting Car
A motorist was struck and killed late Friday on the Garden Grove Freeway, authorities said.
According to initial investigations, the man, a 21-year-old Westminster resident, was driving eastbound on the freeway about 6 p.m. when he got into an accident with another vehicle.
After the accident, according to initial investigations, the man stepped out of his 1997 Nissan Altima and was struck, said Officer Mark Reeves of the California Highway Patrol.
The right lane of the freeway was shut down at Brookhurst Street while officials investigated. The road was reopened at 9:20 p.m.
